What is a complaint?

If you are not happy with something relating to your care then you can make a complaint. This is when you tell someone (usually your local authority) what you are unhappy about and ask them to look into it for you. It might be:

  • No one is listening to you when someone is making decisions about you
  • You think you have been treated unfairly
  • Something is going to be done that you don’t agree with
  • Something hasn’t been done in the way you would like.

The complaints process can be very complicated. Our website will guide you through each stage, explain what it all means and tell you what to do next:
