We’re delighted to announce that actor Peter Capaldi will be hosting our Voices 2018 awards ceremony this April in London.

Running for its third year, Voices 2018, our annual writing competition aims to celebrate the creative talents of children in care and care leavers across the country.

This year we asked young people to write about ‘Who or what makes you proud’ in up to 500 words and in any format they like. The deadline for entries is midnight on Thursday 8 February.

Shortlisted entries will be announced shortly after the deadline closes, and the winners will be decided by our expert panel of authors, writers and journalists.

Peter Capaldi, best known for playing the last incarnation of 'The Doctor' on the long-running BBC series Doctor Who, will be hosting the awards ceremony in early April. All shortlisted entrants will be invited to attend the event.

So if you're in care or a care leaver and love writing, make sure you submit your entry here for the opportunity not only to have your work seen by authors, poets and journalists - but also leading actor, Peter Capaldi.
